There are many dreams I have had. Some have come true, some are still pending, and some are just dreams.

Koulin Chou was born in Kaohsiung, a southwest municipality of Taiwan, where she spent her first 25 years before emigrating to the United States in pursuit of the “American Dream.”

Upon arrival, Koulin and her husband established themselves with seeds of broken English, $200 in savings, and a lot of heart—all of which led to their humbling journeys around the country before they finally settled in southern New Jersey.

At age 32, armed with an undying ambition for success and independence, Koulin decided to pursue her passion in the medical field and delved into a career as a dermatologist, all while dedicating herself to her growing family. She has since been in private practice for over 20 years in Voorhees, New Jersey and has three children.

Koulin began exploring her artistic talents in 2009. Her keen eye, cultivated through years of medical practice, graciously complements her devotion to the subtle nature of art and life. The color palettes and processes utilized in each piece are meticulously and deliberately created in her makeshift art studio, pictured here. Influenced by classical artists and drawing from her own spiritual insights, Koulin’s artwork evokes the soul, life, and passion.

Scattered throughout her pieces are Koulin’s inspiring anecdotes on life, love, happiness, success, and drive. Some of them are shared with you here.
